Already one month into 2009, I’m happy to say that this column has grown, and will be featuring a wide variety of content this year. For one, I’ve been working on a podcast with Brandon Jerwa (“Radio Wasteland”), and I’m well into reading what will be the subject of my first Jess Knows Best book review. I hope you’ll stick around while my column moves through this transition.

1. I was in a head-on car accident on October 20. I spent two weeks in the hospital, had two blood transfusions, a broken wrist, arm, leg (tibia and fibula), and heel. I also tore a ligament in my wrist. In total, I’ve had four surgeries to piece me back together, with screws, rods, and plates throughout. See? Decent excuse!
