As convention season draws ever closer to starting, I thought I’d share another of my favorite sketches. This one comes from the always excellent Lea Hernandez, whose work I’ve been following since CLOCKWORK ANGELS and CATHEDRAL CHILD. (In fact, I have signed cover flats from both of those graphic novels.) You’ll notice the copyright notice on this sketch (L&G)- these characters are the stars of KILLER PRINCESSES, a book Lea did with Gail Simone (published by Oni).
CON SKETCHES, PART TWO
This piece is actually the front cover to one of my tiny sketchbooks (3.5 inches by 3.5 inches or so) and makes me smile every time I look at it. It’s one of those things that’s truly of a moment, something you could never replace. And that, beyond the immorality of it, is why you should never sell a sketch- it will always have the power to transport you someplace wonderful in your head and heart.
